The studio known as
The Photographer was started in 1992 at 1100 Kane St., La
Crosse by Jim Thiele a local photographer for better than 25 years.
By 1996 he was looking for more space and better visibility. At
that time the old Bethel Lutheran Church building went up for
sale. Jim wasted no time. Bought the building and with a little
bit of remodeling and renovation it became the home of the photographer.
The church was built in 1889 and his plan is to keep the building
as original as possible on the outside; however it is rather difficult
to maintain the same level of originality on the inside and operate
the studio. Weêve made no more changes than necessary.
The building has given Jim the
opportunity to set up a very efficient studio with many nice background
choices. An outdoor studio located behind the building has made
nice background choices as well.
Also in 1996 Jim took Carol Lindberg
on as a partner and general manager as well as customer
service and in 2001 Stephanie Sheley joined the group.
Stephanie is the digital imaging expert and sales
person.
The photographer specializes
in family, graduation, children, pets and wedding
photography.
